Emulate3D develops engineering software used within the baggage handling industry for two purposes: to analyse and develop system concepts through baggage flow simulation, and to virtually commission BHS controls before going onsite.
Simulation provides a testbed to evaluate and improve BHS solutions – a dimensionally accurate and logically representative 3D model of the system is built or generated from catalogs of BHS equipment, and the model is data-driven to observe and understand the response and explore options, leading towards a robust and fully-verified solution.
Virtual commissioning models are controlled by connecting the model to the actual PLCs and higher level systems used to run the physical system. By taking controls testing off the project’s critical path and emulating in parallel with the equipment build and install, significant time and money can be saved during commissioning, leading to faster acceptance tests, and more robust BHS control solutions with lower investment risk.
